Boryana Angelova – Psychotherapy in Sofia

About me

My name is Boryana Angelova, and I am an English-speaking psychotherapist based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

I provide individual psychological counseling and therapy for adults, as well as seminars focused on self-knowledge and personal development.

In my practice, I most often work with people who experience:

  • difficulties in their relationships;
  • challenges in communication;
  • struggles with making decisions;
  • grief or separation after losing a loved one;
  • issues with confidence and self-esteem;
  • workplace difficulties with colleagues or supervisors;
  • anxiety caused by the Covid-19 pandemic (including social anxiety and panic attacks).

Training

Alongside my psychodrama training, I have attended several schools and seminars that broadened my therapeutic perspective. I integrate techniques from family constellations, gestalt therapy, transgenerational approaches, dreamwork, and systemic therapy.

My work as a counseling psychologist, psychodrama practitioner, and therapist is based on dynamic theories, cognitive-behavioral psychology, and transgenerational perspectives.

The years of my own therapeutic journey gave me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of myself, to work constructively with my inner conflicts, and to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

Through this process, I developed qualities essential for every therapist: altruism, empathy, patience, and calm.

These three years contributed to the development of my autonomy and personal maturity. During this period, I also mastered the fundamental tools and techniques of psychodramatic work.

This level lasted three years (600 hours) and was carried out in parallel with my private practice as a supervised psychodrama assistant.

To succeed in business and advance in our careers, it is essential to develop soft skills. During a one-year coaching program, I learned how to train people to enhance their emotional intelligence and manage their emotions in the workplace.
